Beautiful butterfly design! These hammers are 9 inches from tip to tip, and 8 inches from the tip of the head to the center of the handles. Perfectly balanced at exactly 18 grams! KJ hammered dulcimer hammers are professional, hand-crafted instruments made with maple shafts and walnut handles.
Each pair is custom-made by Karen Jones from Arkansas. The curve of the striking surface is designed to forgive strikes that are slightly off the mark, while still capturing the full sound of both strings in the course. The wood-side striking surface produces a crisp, clean sound, while the padded side softens the high treble without compromising a full, sweet, rich tone.
